Changing motherboard on eMachines

Rebuilding an eMachines PC for a friend. Her Intel mobo is old and slow, so I am giving her my old eMachines motherboard which has an AMD processor 2400 in it. My question is this...will her old hard drive work with a new mobo? Both old boards are eMachine, but will there be a problem with using the old HDD?

You're going from an Intel (probably Celeron) to an AMD .. the OS drivers are going to be different.
1) The best thing is to reinstall the OS.
2) If you can't afford to lose all that data, you can always get another HD and put OS oon it and keep pld HD and get the data of it
3) back EMAIL, documents, songs, pictures ..etc with CD burner if possible.
4) Install MB and then a XP windows repair might be the the easiest solution that is clean.

Just putting in a new MB and keeping the same configuration may give you headaches ... may work may not work.

First off thank you. Secondly, I did just that (well kinda!). Got a new Hard drive and installed Win XP on it. I am using the OLD hard drive with the files that she can't open as secondary. (On her OLD PC, this secondary was the PRIMARY) Can I find out what that hard drive is and download the drivers for it, and then install them to the primary on this PC?
