Changing mode on a modem

With my Intel HAM hardware modem, I connect anywhere from 24kb to 37kb. I can't connect higher though, so I would like to disable v92. If I'm not mistaken v92 is speeds above 33.6kb. I just want to be able to play starcraft smootly, but when I connect at 36-37kb my ping is actually worse than at 24kb.

So what do I need to do to disable v92 and make v32 (or whatever is up to 33.6) the default?
