Changing from WinME to Win2k

My Dad's Pc is crapping out(big shock since it has ME on it) so I'm going over tomorrow to blow it away and then start from scratch on it with Win2k. He does a LOT of geneology research and as such has a BUNCH of email addresses, mail, & stuff in personal folders that he does not want to lose. Not having deal with ME A whole lot I'm wondering if Outlook Express on it functions like it does on Win2k? The info I really need to know is does is save the address book in .wab format, the folders in .pst, and where is his existing mail going to be? I really should know this stuff but I don't.

Any help?

Thanks!!

There should be no change in the file you are describing. However, I have seen Outlook address books that are in the 20 GB range, so be prepared to properly back it up. Good luck!

He only has about 150 email addresses and I had him check the size of his personal folders and they only totaled 135mb....

thanks for the info!!!
