changes in dual boot

currently i'm on dualboot win2k pro and win98...
but i don't want win98 anymore and wish to replace win98 with win2k advance server...

so can i just format that win98 drive partition with ntfs and install win2k advance server? and continue using dualboot but with win2k pro and advance server?🙂

Life would have been easier if you had a small primary (250mb - Fat16) to house your mbr stuff.
Then you can install/uninstall without bothering the other bootables.

edit: If you have enough room (doubt it) on your C for Adv.Server,
you may be able to just install it and repair your boot.ini file that tells where your other o/s is. Also you need to have ntldr file, which may get installed with adv.server.
I would definitly place that small partition as C: primary and create a new logical for adv.Server.NTFS.
Perhaps the more experienced guys will comment on this.

Should be no problem. Another w2k install will obviously produce the proper boot menu. So that you can access your current w2k while all this messing with C: is going on, you can make a boot floppy that will boot your current w2k. Just format a floppy using w2k, and to it from C:\ copy ntldr, ntdetect.com, and boot.ini.

so C:\ copy ntldr, ntdetect.com, and boot.ini
and i boot using the floppy into my current win2k pro which is my d:
and from there format c: with ntfs and install win2k advance server into c: ...and get everything easily done....with dualboot win2k pro and adv server...

am i correct? did i miss out any steps?
