99 Ranch Market has live lobsters on sale for $6.99 per pound. They usually sell for $12.99 a pound. Got a 4 pounder this afternoon...I'll enjoy my dinner tonight. :laugh:

Just got back Sat from my Keenebunkport, ME/Boston/Newport, RI Trip. All I heard the whole trip from the locals was that this was the worst May weather in years. Overcast most of the week, although not much rain.

I hear that May is one of the best times of the year for Lobster, after that the lobsters molt leaving them with a soft shell for a number of months. From what I was reading while on the trip, the meat is a little less tasty and you get less meat for the money for some reason.

So, they're selling east cost lobsters in Southern California? Makes sense to me.

I like the tail meat in spiny lobsters better, but you can't deny the tastiness of alantic claw meat.

Most of the California catch goes to fanatics that know the good stuff and are willing to pay a premium for it (Japan)
Compared to spinies, East coast bugs taste like cardboard.

We like late september or early october. Fall colors are great then, lobster always good. Last time we went we spent Thurs-Sun just in Kennebunkport, lots to do. Trolly tour, sightseeing, lobster boat ride, shopping in downtown Kennebunkport is the best.

I dunno but as a southerner who has visited Maine, I must say it is an awesome place to visit. I can't wait to go back.

..yup it's the Atlantic bug...I think the spiny lobster taste better...can't complain here. Lobster are lobster.
