Changed my mind, going with Abit KR7A Raid not MSI kt266A Raid pro RU-Opinions please.

Hi again all.

I'm putting together a new sytstem and because my current system has a triple monitor set up I wanted to do the same with my new one. I plan on using Windows XP for this new Rig:

Abit KR7A Raid
AMD Athlon XP 1700 CPU
2 X 256 DDR PC 2100 RAM
GP3 TI 200 64 MB VID CARD AGP
G450 Dual head PCI VID CARD
ATI tv Wonder PCI
WESTERN 60 GB 7200 HD
LITE-ON 24X CD-RW

C'mon guys, tell me what you think.

Why would you need the 3 video cards when you only need 3 monitors? The G450 Dual-head gives ya 2, then all ya need is the TI200..

Then again, I never tried using multiple video cards in the same system. I always thought the VGA bios would conflict with each other.... (*shrug*)

There will be only two vid cards, the Ati TV Wonder is simply a Tuner card not a vid card.

No conflicts in the bios with multiple vid cards, I'm using three right now.

<< Thanks for the enlightening..

Everything is ok for the config as far as I can tell. Let us know how things turn out..

Can you guys tell me if one stick of 512MB of DDR PC 2100 RAM is better than 2 sticks of 256MB DDR PC 2100 RAM?

My supplier sells the 256MB stick for less than half the price of 512MB and the Abit KR7A Raid has four slots anyway!

Should I spend the extra dollars for the one stick of 512MB?

one stick mean less problem,
if the 2 stick is not identical at performance than 1 stick is better
also it use less power than 2 stick. if you don want to oc and the
price difference is significan than use the 2 stick,
i don't think it's gonna be a problem.

peace

Most motherboards are most stable when runnig fewest number of sticks. Fortunately for you and me, KR7A is stable even when all four slots are filled.
