Changed icon, but doesn't change

I have a program shortcut on my desk, and with a recent update for it it got a new icon. Now, the day I installed the update it displayed the new icon, but today it displays the old one. I tried changing it to the new one again, but it stays on the old one. Do I have to delete something in my registry, then try to apply the new one again?
