Do you miss anything from your SV1000?
Is there a reason the rear fender on all sport bikes stick up like that? I don't think I've ever seen one with a rounded fender.
aerodynamics I would imagine.
I did 110 miles on it yesterday and I must admit, my knees and butt are sore
I had dont about 35 miles before I left on that little ride
and its central IL, so it was just cruising
16 something.....yeah
advertised as 16,7 and changed to like 16K
its crazy
makes me wonder how long the motor will last![]()
thanks!
I think a naked gen 2SV would make a great stablemate to the R6, although I would probably then be forced to redo the SV suspension....
I want to get an Aprilia Shiver for a daily rider at some point, but its an Aprilia, they are expensive!
I would love a B King, but they are too damn big for my small self.
or a 87 Yamaha FZX-700 but they are getting really hard to find![]()
The Shiver is actually slower than a Suzuki SV650 despite being Italian and a 750cc v-twin. It is a heavy bike. I'd go for the Triumph Street Triple R for about the same money, it would stomp the Shiver easily. I'm keeping an eye out for a lightly used Monster 1100 S or an S4R myself. I've ridden both and they are sweet!
monster 1100's are slow as balls and heavy too?
the shiver is just sexy, and all reviews I read say the FI is incredbily well done, as well as the suspension.
and its just sexy, sexier than the Street Triple(not that I wouldnt ride one.....) and even rarer.
certainly a S4r is the way to go for a monster, the 4 valves are the only ones worth it imo, otherwise its too much $$ for not enough performance
its leagues ahead of the SV650 too, well done inverted forks, drive by wire(with 3 different engine maps), radial brakes, and its not much heavier than the SV650
did I mention its Italian![]()
