Get the software that comes with the retail box version of your HD manufacturer from the manufacturers web site. It will copy drive to drive.
But XP still won't work right for a number of reasons, the most significant of which is that the drive letter is built into the registry. But you can reinstall XP over itself, retaining your settings and programs, and that will fix the drive letter for XP, but it won't fix the drive letter of the apps if they have been moved. You get the drift. It can be done, but how much effort is it worth in comparison to starting over?
