My roommate in college was a Lakers, Rams and Dodgers fan when he was growing up in Southern California. After college, he moved to Utah and became a Jazz fan. Then he moved to Seattle and now he is a Seahawks, Sonics and Mariners fan.

I am a lifetime 49ers, S.F. Giants and Warriors fan from growing up in Northern California. I have not lived in No. Cal. since 1986, but my allegiances have not changed.

Are you more like my friend or like me in that way? Who was your favorite team before and who is it now? And why did you change allegiances?

Yes. I changes from hating Dallas to hating the Broncos to hating the Bears and back to hating Dallas (never really gave it up I guess). Now I realize I don't care enough to hate so peace out.

I grew up in northern Ohio a Cleveland Indians fan, this goes back a ways. Then I moved to New York City and when the indians were playing the yankees, I'd go to the games. After many years of that I gradually turned into a Yankees fan.

I'm still in the area, no idea what would happened if I ever moved again.

I have always hated the Rams, Cowboys and Raiders.

Some things never change.

I find that I "follow" the Lakers and the Dodgers more closely than the Warriors and the Giants, mostly because you cannot get away from Laker and Dodger news on the radio here. But there is no doubt that I want the Warriors and Giants to do better than the Lakers and Dodgers.

Nope, been a White Sox fan since birth. I'll root for the Bears/Bulls/Blackhawks but wont claim to be a fan.

Oklahoma Supersonics, so I am switching to Portland Trailblazers real soon. The Mariners are breaking my balls too, but I despise any other teams in the AL, so I have no choice for baseball.

I did use to be something of an Angels' fan, too, but that ended when they beat the Giants in the World Series.

Now they are dead to me like Fredo.

Nope, I've always been a Laker fan. I was basically born a Laker fan because my dad is a Laker fan (he's originally from Southern California), so I grew up liking the team he liked. I'm a little more die-hard then he is nowadays though, I never miss a game even though it keeps me until 1:30 to 2am on work nights now that I live across the country.

The only team I really care about is the NJ Devils, and I'll root for them regardless of where I live. If THEY moved I might consider rooting for another team, but I can't root for the Rangers or Flyers.

Football and baseball I don't care so much about. I (very) passively root for the Mets; that is, if I got free tickets I'd go to a game, but I don't watch baseball on TV except during the playoffs. When I was in college I (very) passively rooted for the Cubs, partly because they hadn't won the World Series in forever, partly because of proximity; I went to one game, more for the sake of going to Chicago since I had never been there. Same with football - I don't follow football closely, but I'll root for the Giants since they're local. When I was in college I (very) passively rooted for the Colts because of proximity.

Basketball I really, really don't care about. I think the Nets were supposed to be moving to Brooklyn? I won't miss them.

So yeah - my answer depends on how much I care about the sport (and thus, the team).

No matter where I live I remain a true supporter of the following teams: NY Mets, NY Giants, and the NJ Devils. I don't care for Basketball so it doesn't matter.

My three brothers and mom are Washington Huskies fans/alumni, I used to be as a kid until I lived in the U District for a few months and eventually went to Washington State and rooted for the Cougars.

You moved from N.Cal to S.Cal right?? That's a bit easier to stay true to your team. I moved from Florida to N.Cal, it's very rare I get to see a Jags/Braves/Noles game on T.V. out here. I will always stay true to them, but I have had to pick up some west coast teams to follow. I'm kind of in the 49ers/A's/Cal boat now, as long as they aren't playing my east coast teams.

Change? DOES NOT COMPUTE.

Michigan Wolverines
Detroit Tigers
Detroit Lions
Detroit Red Wings
Detroit Pistons

The only thing remotely close to me changing would be adopting the Atlanta Thrashers as my second-favorite NHL team after I moved to Atlanta in 1999. I have season tickets.

BTW, I hate the Falcons, Braves and Hawks.

No.

LSU
Astros

Yes.
Philadelphia Eagles - before the Hurricane when the Saints threatened to move every year and extorted money out of the state govt. every year I lost it with them. My best friend is from Philly and after years of watching games I became a fan.

The only change I have ever made in terms of sports allegence was from growing up a Tennessee fan (lived there my whole life), to becoming a Vanderbilt fan when I went to college, but when you are at Vanderbilt people pretty much take it for granted that you have a "real" football team you like too, so its OK liking Tennessee too. But mostly I just go for any SEC team verse anyone else and want the highest ranked SEC teams to win verse lower ranked ones (except Vanderbilt) so we can make it into the BCS more.

College? No, I always watch/root for the FSU Seminoles.

NFL? Yeah.

I lived in FL way back when the Dolphins were good. I left the country for about 8 yrs and moved back to NC. So, I'm a Panther fan now (Plus the Fins suck).

At various times I've liked different teams. E.g., the Bears when Walter Payton was there.

I am not sure it is any easier moving from No. Cal to So. Cal over Florida to No. Cal. I never get any 49ers, Giants or Warriors games unless they are playing an L.A. team (and L.A. does not have NFL).

Why do you think it is easier for me?

There has got to be a study out there somewhere that explains what the hell is wrong with people like you.
