a while ago i installed a small programme on the desktop to replace the recycle bin it was in the form of a toilet which flushed to empty it.i got bored with it and removed it by way of the uninstaller that came with it but although it uninstalled it left the recycle bin icon on the desktop but named toilet.

go to regedit and search for "Toilet". It will bring up the key and you can change the name to anything you want from there.

I am on a locked down NT computer at work so I am unable to give you the specific key to go to.

Here is the key in Windows 2000. It might be close to the one in 98. Can't give you the exact one either, as im on a locked down Win2k workstation at work as well.

HKEY_USERS/.DEFAULT/AppEvents/EventLabls/EmptyRecycleBin

Just realized something, its probably not going to be anything like it is in 98. If nobody gets it for you, I'll get it to you when I get home tonight.

Hally: I am in a tech call center working Saturday - Wednesday. It isn't all that bad. Kind of slow and allows me time to look at this board.

Welcome to what I think is the best Tech Support Forum on the net.
