Change From User To Administrator?

I just re-installed XP Pro because I went to RAID 0. I don't remember setting up an administrator account but Windows wants me to log on to my user name when I boot. Mine is the only one listed. I used "control userpasswords2" in the run dialog box to change the settings so I didn't have to log in. But it booted as Admin and my desktop (shortcuts, folders, files, etc.) were gone so I went back.
Is there a way to delete the need to log on and keep my desktop? I am the only user of this machine.
TIA

Download the X-setup program.

It is a comprehensive program that allows a lot of tweaks to all aspects of WinXP as well as Win98 Win2000 Win2003.

One of the tweaks enables the choice to log as an Administrator when you start WinXP.

You will have to search for it since it is new version that was released two weeks ago (it is somewhere in the Win Startup options).
