If you needed another example of how humans are the dominant force on Earth:

Something strange is happening to our planet. Around the year 2000, the North rotational pole started migrating eastward at a vigorous clip. Now, scientists at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory have figured out what’s going on—and you’ll be shocked to learn that humans are behind it....

...Through careful observations and mathematical models, Adhikari has discovered that our planet’s recent polar wanderlust has two causes: the melting of the Greenland and West Antarctic ice sheets, and changes in the global distribution of water stored on land. Both of these are related to a single underlying phenomenon. “The bottom line is that climate change is driving the motion of the polar axis,” Adhikari said. His findings are published in Science Advances today....

Article says it is moving "east"..... cool trick when you realize that if you are standing on the north pole, every direction is south, there is no east or west.

LOL at "one weird trick." Did you get that from cheesy online ads? Sounds familiar.

Lets have everyone on the planet go to a keg party at the North Pole and the planet will tip over :)

Sorry buddy, I was just teasing a little bit.

It's hard to post a hard science fact around here these days.

;)

No problem. I actually think your solution might work if we just sent the "skeptics". Everyone knows the denser something is the more weight it has. :D ():)

Only if you are exactly on the center of the pole; once you move even one millimeter off, you can go in any direction you want.

You and me, we are above all that. We're not skeptics. We know Jesus will save us. You even drew a cross on the globe and a halo over your smiley face.

Only a pin head like yourself could stand at the North Pole and have all directions be south. For most of us, one arm will be east of the other.

Seems like basic physics to me. We are also marginally slowing the earth's rotation by pumping billions of pounds of oil out of the ground and exhausting it into the atmosphere.

Well, it's moving toward the Eastern Hemisphere, not the Western Hemisphere.

Absolutely!

So you can lose 20 lbs in 2 weeks, cure your baldness, grow your penis by 50%, make $1 million a year working from home, AND change the earth's axis of rotation, and each of these requires just this "one weird trick." Amazing. :D

The poles have been moving about forever and they even reverse polarity. WTF should we care?

This is referring to the rotational pole. You are referring to the magnetic pole. I'm not sure there's anything really dangerous about it but it is another example
of how large an effect we can have on the planet.

If it tilts over too far the equator will hit the galactic plane and the earth will spin off into space like a top off a table.

Negative Moonbeam. If anything the moon will spin off into space like a top off table. And it's already in the process as it used to be closer to the earth and then we used to have 444 days per year 65 million years ago during the dinosaurs and it's slowed down to 365. Fast Forward another million years and we'll be down to 355 days. Eventually when the moon does spin off, we'll have just 1-2 days a year like venus.

How is doing something that used to take 444 days to do but now only 365 slowing down?
