Change counting machine

Lifer
My lady always deposits a few dollars worth of change every time she goes to the bank, so I asked her why she doesn't just get a mason jar and deposit it once a year. She retorted saying the machines are rigged. I chuckled and offered an experiment. We counted out 6.50 in change(both counted independently), of varying coins, and headed to her local Chase Bank.

The teller takes the plastic baggy with the coins and runs them through the machine. She said it was 5.14. At this point my GF told her that the machine was screwed up and she wants her money back. GF was informed that she cannot have the coins back once they were put in the machine. Vulgar words were directed at Chase Bank; a scene was made.

GF is now closing down her Chase account and switching banks.

Great story eh?

Great story. I believe it, I always counted and double counted before I took the $$ in and always got less than I expected.

I worked at a bank for a while during my undergrad and those coin machines only were off when they would get jammed with crap people put in their coin jars, like buttons.

banks will sort coins?

i thought you had to have that shit rolled and ready to go, that's why i've always just payed the 8% or whatever and used the coinstar.

I just bought my own coin counter. Took me a while to find one of the less expensive ones that won't jam up or quit working over time. Got it from office depot for $50 IIRC. Bring the change in rolls and the bank can't possibly stiff you.

mine has one of those coinstar like machins in the lobby, except when you dump it in they credit it right to your account.

That's why I spend my coins as I get them. That way I'm not carting around pounds of metal, and I know they're counted right every time.

You and your "lady" have no life and you don't have the first fucking clue what "expunged" means.

Your woman is kicks ass. Fuck people tryn to rip me off. Send her into the next car dealership too.

Other people around here might not mind bending over.

They say they won't, but if you ask right they'll do you a "one time favor". I've been getting banks to count my change for years.

Grocery stores also have change machines, you just gotta ask the right way.

Roll your coins.
Take them to the bank.
Break them in front of the teller
Get them counted
Demand blow job from teller

I bought one of those machines at walmart, but you really have to watch, I find it often screws up dimes and pennies since they are almost the same size.

And since when do banks actually do the sorting for you? I'm sure if I brought my bucket of change they'd tell me where to go and where I can put it. 😛

I just use the Coinstar machines and get Amazon credit with nothing deducted. With Prime, Amazon money is worth almost as much as real cash to me.
