So I handed in my applications and everything... I'm so worried I won't get in. Will my chances be helped if I am currently an undergraduate there? I applied to Northeastern University for their Masters in EE program and i'm currently an EE undergrad. They don't require the GRE and my GPA is a 3.0

I'm so worried =\

Well, they let me in... so you'll probably get in... I'm surprised they dont require a test. It probably depends on how well you did on your most recent classes.

I am on the same boat as you. I really want to go to grad school but I don't know if my marks are good enough. I will be sending out applications and then engaging in a marathon praying session.

the only reason they don't require it is I think because I'm one of their own. yikes! this will be interesting..

If you're worried that your GPA is lower, try talkng to some profs in your area of interest since you're a student there. If they want you, they know how to pull the strings ;)

haha i have... I was an undergraduate researcher there in their magnetics material lab for a year and have one year of work experience working in the field... the only thing I'm lacking is my 3.0 gpa... -sigh- i wish i could turn back time and try a little harder.

It depends largely on the university. Emory actually (from what I heard while I was there) reserved a certain number of seats in its graduate programs for Emory undergrads. UGA, on the other hand, was less likely to accept you had you earned your Bachelor's from them.

But in your case, with the school not requiring a GRE of its students, it sounds more like the former situation than the latter. Best of luck.

my undergrad gpa was 2.64 and I got into engineering grad school. Usually all schools have a probation admission where they let you in on a conditional basis which is something like, maintain a 3.0 gpa for 2 semesters or 12 credit hours.

If you are a US Citizen, and want to go to EE grad school, you are in very good shape. They will let you in and then fail you out, no problem..grad school is hard!
