Well, he smashes the thorttle, dumps the clutch at like 6000 RPM. Nothing but smoking Michelins and the roar or 500 HP screaming for vengeance against my lowly Ford. Down the ditch he goes comin after me. The Expo hit the mud, sunk in about a foot then the Posi kicked in hard. All 4 diggin deep, the V8 growling defiance against the Dodge powered Viper. Mud flew, wheels turned and slowly the Expo drug itself up on top and clawed across the soft landscape. The Viper hit the mud, dropped 6 inches when the bumper caught. Off it comes, torn from its mountings like so much cheap plastic. The V10 beast howled in protest to being pulled on. The big tires grabbed mud and threw it helter skelter in anger. The Viper lumbered up out of the mud and across the feilds in pursuit.....

in the end, the Expo won by about 2 car lengths. I figure it was due to the mud, it really slowed the Viper down. unfortunately, the VIper did lose his bumper and half his exhaust, the low ground clearance really hindered him going through the trees. Ah well, it was a good race nonetheless.

is anyone else doubting the fact that an owner of an NSX would choose to pick a crappy ass civic SI to run with?

i'm thinking this is all in this guy's head.

I was definitely thinking "why would someone in an NSX bother challenging a Civic Si?"

But if he was making it up, he could have at least put himself in a slightly faster car... ;)

There are a lot of fscktards out there... why would a riced-out Mustang V6 challenge a 2G turbo DSM? Why would a Camry try to take on a Vette? (I saw that one... )

there is no way that a civic could outrun a NSX at highway speeds.

You are a fool. All car racing is retarded. Speed doesn't mean anything. It's how you do around a hairpin that really counts. Put your life on the line, and I promise you'll never have a thrill like that again.

Yet, driving through a hairpin is racing you moron.

I wasn't aware that the newer NSXs were so much faster - but the older ones are not. I "raced" one through some twisty mountain roads once... they are definitely fantastic handling cars - but then I almost rear-ended him accelerating on a straightaway and had to cut that one short...

I think he means racing vs canyon carving or whatever you want to call it.

Hairpins.. I dunno.. but I've never had a rush like when I went around that corner on that 2 lane country road at 80mph (at night!).
I didn't do it on purpose. I was busy thinking, and didn't realize how fast I was going. This wasn't a very sharp bend- recommended speed was 50 or 60mph. I heard my tires squeeling, but I wasn't really sliding... so I braked (I didn't realize just how fast I was going). Voila! 4 wheel drift, then quite a bit of correction. I will never do anything like that again, but I have to say that it was quite a rush.
