j/k hehe... but kinda funny...going down to DC on i-95 doing ~80 when i see this black car flying toward me in my side mirror... never seen an NSX up close before but it looks awesome... he flys by me and then hits his breaks to match my speed and looks at me, im like wtf ok fine i'll play...look at him and pull ahead and wait for him to pass me... did this for about 5 mins until he got bored and flew away... haha...

also saw a few of the new maximas driving around in dc, they look pretty nice to me, especially in black...

Everyone knows the only car that can keep up with an NSX is a Civic with big stickers and some NAWWWZ.

NSX's are exotic looking, but they're not especially fast. They only have around 270 hp and 210 lbs torque. I have an article and they tested it at around 14 seconds 1/4 mile, with a trap speed of slightly over 100 mph.

I wouldn't mind having one for the looks though.

And I don't know why people flame on Pintos so much (no pun intended), aside from their little defect they were pretty good little cars with a good solid engine. Its 4-cyl 2.4L engine was still used in the Ford Ranger up until a few years ago..

A guy that works for or own's Hinshaw's Honda lives here in Auburn and drives an NSX. I think the taillights are ugly personally, and the spoiler too, but the front doesn't look that bad. Not sure how old of an NSX though, doesn't look that recent. Still a neat car just for the uncommon factor, but definately not worth the $$ IMHO.

Driven right, NSX's hit mid to low 13s in the 1/4. Anyone who pulls a 14 second ET in a NSX pulls a 2.4+ 60' (they can't launch)

It's definitely not about the speed when it comes to the NSX. It's the mid engined, rear-wheel drive, all aluminum body and a high revving 6-cyl engine that takes many pages out of F1 cars that makes it so great. Edmunds called it the best handling car today in a comparison test with a Viper, Z06, and Porsche 911..

And I'm not sure when they were updated but the newer ones have 290 hp, and ran run the 1/4 in the low to mid 13's.

Is that for the later ones? The article I have is from 93 or 94.

Yeah, the motor is solid, no arguments there. The fact remains, how can one not poke fun at a Pinto?

I wouldn't mind having one. From what I've heard, they're like an exotic that you can *actually drive*... not a just a museum piece.

Exactly. The NSX isnt a Camaro SS. Its not meant for straight line aggresiveness. Its made for corners and twisty roads. I'd take that car over just abou tany other car EVER made for a mountainpass Cannonball run.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not sayin its slow! You get a good driver, it'll run like a raped ape with the best of them. But, its forte is corner carvin

The earlier 91's -93's were weaker than the 94's+

But I've seen them driven right with a clutch killing 6000rpm drop/modulation that nets them a 13.2-13.5 to wimps that just kinda ease it off the line and hit 14s

Back in the day I had a friend who had a built 350 chevy motor in his Pinto. That thing was scary fast.......would eat an NSX for lunch.....:)

If you read his post, he just drove alongside the NSX, then got pwned... so knowing what kind of car he drove is unnecessary

It's necessary to know why the NSX wanted to play with him.

Straight speed is one thing, but like someone already said, the NSX is God among handling, and that's why I love it. Id' love to cruise the Blue Ridge parkway in one of those (albeit on a closed blue ridge parkway so i don't kill anyone with my assanine for fun driving)
