I downloaded the abandonware version, but the railroad track build functions are controlled by a number keypad that i conveniently dont have 🙁 any ideas?
 
You have an Inspiron, right? It should have a number pad (on mine the 5 is on the I key).

There's an option in the BIOS to enable it, by default the numlock key on the keyboard has no effect.

You can hold down the FN key and hit those numbers as well, at least, old Inspirons were this way.

I'm curious why you think abandonware is legal to download.

He's a member of the Army stationed there, so the US laws still apply.

IIRC, he would be governed by the UCMJ and the laws of the country he is stationed in.
