Chaintech ZNF3-250 motherboard overclocking?

i think i chose the znf3-250 because it has firewire ports, it has the gigabit network card and it has a 7.1 channel codec...

im glad to see the vnf overclocks, so does this mean the znf does as well?

The Znf should do well with the active cooling on the HSF. The people that have them really like them that I have seen on the forum boards. The giga lan is not on the Southbridge I don't believe so you are not pickin up anything there and the 7.1 could be bought from Chaintech on newegg.com for 23 bucks.

Just depends on what you are looking for.

Hey Sniper,

Just my opinion, but I think choosing a board because it has firewire is not such a great idea. Personally, I think the znf3-250 is not such a great board considering the price -- sure, you get Gbit lan, but it is tacked on the PCI bus, as is the SATA controller. You get 7.1 sound, but the on-board sound is no where near the same quality you find with an audigy...and yes, I did side-side comparisons of on-board sound vs. audigy. So you pay extra for this "feature" that is not so great...

My thinking is this: -VNF3-250 $80 Sb audigy w/firewire $75 = $155. Now you have fast, stable board, great sound, and firewire for less than the znf3-250. Go check anandtech home page and read the socket 754 article and see what they have to say about the vnf3-250...it is an awesome board for a great price.

Cheers,
DJM
