Hey gang,
I just purchased a ChainTech VNF3-250 motherboard from newegg and dropped it in this system. BIOS is reporting incorrect identification/settings for all the devices on my secondary ide channel.
For example, my 200GB Western Digital HD has the official identification "WDJ2000JB-32EVA0", however when put onto the secondary ide channel of the VNF3-250, the BIOS reports it as having the corrupted name of " WqJ2000Rb-32Xz$" or something like that. Additonally, it identified its capacity as being 108GB. Needless to say, my system locked up shortly after compiling ESCD information, the first point (I believe) the motherboard attempts to access the boot sector of the hard drive.
I have swapped drives and cables and have isolated the problem to the secondary ide channel. Anything I plug in there shows up with corrupted information.
Any suggestions on what might be going wrong? Anybody else have this problem before? Would a bios update fix this problem, or am I going to have to RMA it and send it back?
Thanks in advance!
