K, jsut flashes to the new bios. Everything is the same as before. They added Cool&Quiet to this bios. I didnt test it out yet. Temps are still screwy.

How is the voltage on this board? As you may have noticed in my posts, the vcore on the Epox is a little screwy.

what voltage are you talking about?

the vcore on this board overvolts.

Yes, I am talking about the vcore. Does it fluctuate very much?

Must be an Epox thing. The Epox does only have 2-phase power, which could be part of the problem. Interesting to note that we are both running the same mult and HTT, and memory ratio. Are you looking for some faster memory? I have heard that PQI makes some pretty good stuff. I am probably going to sell these 256's (needed them for my dual channel nforce2) and get 1 512. Still not sure if I am going to keep this Epox.

nope my memory is great ;)

and why would you be running a 5:6 memory ratio with pc4000 ram?

Well, if you memory is great why aren't you running a 1:1 ratio? I am not because my memory is not great. With both sticks I can get the memory up to 225, and with one stick they can each do 250. I run my memory at 3-3-3-10 1T. Changing to 2T gives me a few more MHz, but not much.

i dont run 1:1 because i only have pc3200 ram. You have pc4000, You should easily make it to 250. If you cant than i suggest getting new ram cause the sticks you have suck. Do your sticks even pass memtest?

I don't waste time running memtest. If it can play games and run benchmarks, it is stable. Funny thing about memory is that when it's not stable, it is pretty obvious. As I stated before, the memory will to 250 per piece, just not when put together. Not sure if this is a mobo thing, or a memory thing. But I have always heard that a single stick of ram will overclock better than two sticks. Just like single sided memory will overclock better than double sided. And yes, I would not recommend Kinston memory for serious overclocking, but it is pretty cheap. I bought the memory to go with my NF7 and Barton 2500, so I am just using it on my new system until I decide on something better.

That board has the tightest voltages I have ever seen on any board, the +12 +5 & +3.3 volts are always dead on & do not fluctuate at all,as for the vcore it does overvolt a tiny bit & stays dead on
even under full load.

No other board I ever had before ever had such good voltage regulation.

Flashed here fine too,Cool & quiet still doesn't work.

I had cool & Q working for a bit but then it froze on me,I guess it's never going to work right on this board but no biggie. it's not like they advertised that they had it because they never did. ;)

How did you guys manage to run 250x10 on a 3200+ NC? I thought they are multiplier locked? I'm running mine at 11x233MHz

Multipliers are only locked from stock on up,you can lower your multiplier. :)

and to add,if you're running the first bios release you need to update your bios because the first one didn't have multiplier adjustments.

I'm on the 7/29 BIOS. The shipping BIOS release kinda sucks.

Hmm, guess I'll try bumping up the FSB and lowering the multiplier. I have PC4000 memory anyway.

Hmm, I'm assuming the multiplier control is "Hammer Fid"? On my BIOS there are only integer values such as 10, 11 but not 10.5, 11.5. Is this missing?

Also, what is HT frequency? Right now it's set at 4X.

yes the multi control is hammer fid. If you get a hardlock when trying to change it, reboot and load the fail safe defaults than try again.

The VNF3 only has whole numbers, so no .5's.

Only change the HTT frequency if your going over 250htt and/or your running into stability problems. The HTT frequency determines your bus speed, and with the nforce3-250 you dont really want to go over 1000mhz(HTTxHTTmulti) for example your running 233x4 so your bus speed is 932mhz.

My epox board, 8kda3j, has nice non fluctuating voltages. Its also a version 2.0 board.

I just tried it yesterday night, I'm now on 255x10 instead of 233x11, with slightly more relaxed memory timings, and my HT link is still at 4X.

I don't own this motherboard, but saw another thread somewhere else where the guy said its working now. Just that its not shown in the bios, but on by default?

Its the last post by "GlassMan".

Maybe someone else could confirm if this is true or not.

I think my temps are right, im 39-40 idle and a whopping 50-53 on prime95 torture test inplace-fft, is this okay?
