Chaintech NForce4 Ultra mobo in-stock at Newegg

I highly doubt they'll last long... link. $119 + shipping.

EDIT: OOS! Not that anybody would notice as they're too busy yelling at eachother. 🙂

Thanks for the heads up...

Sweet board, but I'm SO tempted to hold out and see what MSI and Asus have to bring to the game. It also bugs me about how much room we'll have to watercool two cards in SLI.

Why is this so much cheaper. I know it doesn't have all the features....
I cant find a single review.

**This item may only be returned for a replacement of the same make/model.

Lowest price I can find for a 3200+(OEM) is $179 from Monarch. That would make a nice combo.
$330 shipped for the set.

newegg also has
ASUS "A8N-SLI Deluxe" NVIDIA nForce4 Chipset Motherboard For AMD Socket 939 CPU -RETAIL
Yes $259.00

GIGABYTE "GA-K8NF-9" NVIDIA nForce4 4X Chipset Motherboard For AMD Socket 939 CPU -RETAIL
No $129.00

zipzoom has these listed but on backorder:
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum nForce4 Ultra Athlon 64 Skt939 DDR ATX $189.00
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum/SLI nForce4 SLI Athlon 64(FX) Skt939 DDR ATX 209.00

i just bought a 3200+ winchester from monarch for 179 probably going to pick up the mobo
in the next 2-3 weeks. hopefully the msi one will come down a little in price.

Peeps, don't you want to wait to read some comparative reviews before buying nforce4 mobo's ? I'm prepared to wait a few weeks to be able to choose the best offer, and also to flush out the suckers who overpay. I mean, if the a new board is performing worse than existing ones, why buy it ? I understand that these do provide new options with PCIe, which were not available before, but for me it's important to get the high performance as well.

That Gigabyte board is the nForce4 4X (limited to 1600mhz HyperTransport) rather than the Ultra chipset (which supports the full 2000mhz). The Chaintech is the Ultra and is surprisingly less expensive. Even if it were in stock I'd avoid the Gigabyte.

Right. Luckily the PCIe cards are generally less expensive than their AGP equivelants in a number of cases.

haha, what a little..... Buy stuff without having a clue about it's performance, reliability, etc. Not a single review or shred of information. Go ahead more on, be the ginny pig for the rest of us.

Hey Stan,

Did you forget your meds?

Chaintech has a fairly good rep and the nf4's are mostly an updated nf3 with pci express.
I'm sure we will hear more on the quality, etc. of the boards soon.

fo show we will. 🙂

On the NForce 4 mainboards, are the peripherals located on the PCI bus, on PCIe or seperate?

I assume that the Gigabit chip is the same as on the NForce 3 chipsets with integrated non-PCI GbE, right?

What about the IDE controllers? PCI, PCIe?

I too am going to wait for an sli board. By the time I buy one I will only have enough money for a 6600 video card. I might want to buy one at a later time. I currently have a 5900 so it should be better. Has anyone reviewed the 7.1 Nvidia sound on these boards? I know and wish it has soundstorm. I do will not buy another creative labs card.

Plenty of excellent AMD64 mainboards available with AGP slots. Just not any NF4 boards.

oh do you really think we'll hear more on the quality of the boards soon ? really ? and I guess yours is sure that this board will be rated better than other boards, because hey, it was the first one available so it must be the best right ? I'd bet there will be better and cheaper boards in a month, and by then we'll have a lot more information thab your comprehensive review "...mostly nf3 with pci-e". Thanks for the in depth info anyways.
