Why in the HELL did chaintech to decide to use C-media sound instead of the integrated soundstorm audio. I cant understand, a feature rich board, which doesnt use one of the best features of the chipset. This must be a freaking joke.
Chaintech engineers/marketing = idiots

I didn't see the very nice onboard video either....
I'll wait for a nice board that has the video, the audio, and a uATX form factor.
And a job. ;)

uATX? Mind if you want to explain that? I would love for a Flex-ATX or a Baby-ATX nForce2 to come out. :D

Something is very wrong here. Maybe they couldn't get the sound to work right. Maybe the sound is the reason the nForce2 was delayed so long.

some manufacturers did this with the original nforce... there must be a reason.

Or maybe chaintech couldn't get it right being one of the first out of the gate.

The sound is the same as it was for the nforce, so I doubt their is a problem. The only explanation is to save money, the cmedia chips are cheap to implement, unlike the soundstorm which probably cost a couple more dollars.

It's because people whined about paying for integrated this and that. Never mind that it's the whole point of nForce. It's not like NVIDIA is world renowned for chipsets. It's their video tech in which they are the market leaders.

I doubt this. The "Soundstorm" APU is really no different than the 1st nForce's APU. Not sure tho
