well, unfortunately I am sure there will be new connections that will make that out of date too. Home theater isn't advancing at the same pace as computers. It fortunately has HDMI but what about when the next connection type comes out? You would have to bypass the receicer. Guess it all depends on how much of a difference you think it makes. But a $900 receiver with $150 monitors doesn't sound like a balanced system. But maybe you have other speakers that I dont know about. Just my opinion

Most of the cost is the amplifiers anyway. Nice quality processors will always be available when new tech comes out. I'm just saying that a decent reciever is worth the investment and will never be obsolete. If you ever get a new one, you can always use the old one for its amplifiers or give it to a relative or child or use it on a secondary computer.

For stereo I still use a Dynaco Stereo 416 from '78 and a pair of Veritas

yes, only digital unlike the other ones. there two different models. the ba7500 and ba7500g. the ba7500g is the one i have, which have no analog input, while the ba7500 does have analog input. yep, so what should i do?

you know what i rather just get a new speaker with analog. i really dont like wires dangling around, cause i already have lots other wires everywhere. anyway my brother need a pair of speaker himself, so i rather give this one to him. so let me ask you guys again what do you think about this speaker??

You know what though? a Denon AVR-3805 will run you $900, but 3 years from now it's still gonna be a beast. 10 years from now it's still gonna be a beast. Can you say that about computer equipment?

wow that's not too bad... I spent more than half that on my Yamaha RX-V740
I almost bought a Denon 1804, but it came down to looks, because for what I needed it for, they performed almost identical.. oh and I got a price cut on the Yamaha too. I am happy with my Yammy... they are better than they used to be. (I used to run H/K)

but my next amp is something I've been obsessed with lately, Rotel.

I  Rotel.
