Chain mail/dad rant.......

My dad just got a chain mail letter at his email account, and it's the typical "forward because Intel and Microsoft are watching and they'll pay you XXXXXXXX amount of $$$$"

So I laughed at it and told him to delete it.
He's like "Why don't you send it to a couple of people?"
I'm like "WHAT YOU SAY???"
He says "What can it hurt?"
I showed him all the dumb (AOL) people that had forwarded it like mad, and how dumb they were to waste email bandwidth (if you've ever had rogers@home in Canada....well....emails don't come that often :Q), and in the end I ended up forwarding it.

I thought it was going to be about gay porn, then I realized that he said "Chain mail," not "male chain."

I got one the other day stating that Gateway and HP were merging and giving away 250,000 free computers if, and only if, you sent this letter out to 15 people and those people sent it out to another 15 people. There were HP people monitoring the emails keeping track of how many people you sent it too.

Uhhh huh.

You're not the only one - and it didn't help that I spent the morning at young daughter's school doing a clothing and armor demo for the 8th graders studying &quot;A CT Yankee at King Arthur's Court&quot;. 🙂

As for the chain letter issue - Viperoni, you might ask your dad if he thinks that he should be paying more for email service. Bandwidth and storage cost money for your ISP - the more junk mail that gets passed around, the more likely it is that your supplier will end up needing to charge you more for the service. Remind him that by forwarding this to &quot;just a couple of people&quot;, he has become part of the problem.

Lady Niniane, Thanks for the advice, but my dad's very stubborn.
sending an email with rogers is like watching a bubble in a bottle of hair gel.
It's not going anywhere fast 🙁

And outside of work for that matter 😀 🙂

My mom forwards me about 10 jokes/junk letters a day. They all get deleted with no reading, don't bring it up as an issue, just junk 'em when you see FWD in the subject 🙂
