CG?

I just read that the new .09 Athlon 64's are starting to trickle out (VR-zone.com). It is a D0 stepping for the .09's. Can't wait to see how they heat up (or not!) the cpu scene. Ironically, the mobiles and the regular Athlon 64's will get the .09 stepping first because the FX-55 wil be .13 micron. I guess AMD decided that the majority of processors selling on the AMD64 line should get the .09 first!

There may be problems reaching high speeds.

Plus I would bet that AMD is going after the larger segments for its .9 process. We will know if they are having problems with the .09 if they don't up the speedbin of the Opterons until 2005 or if they up them on the .13 process. Lucky for them they can get 2600 out of the current .13 process

Are all newcastles CG? Such as the newcastle 2800 and 3000+. Also does anyone know of an athlon 64 2800+ review with a nforce 3 250 board, im curious to see how well that can overclock.

Yes, all true Newcastles seen so far have been CG revision. The 3000+ is not a true newcastle but rather a clawhammer with half the cache disabled. It's available in both C0 and CG revisions. As to the 2800+ I'm not sure but I believe they are true newcastles.
