Picked up a Jensen for $34.88 at Target in Brooklyn Park, MN today.

Last one!

They had a Philips one also, but it was $69.

VERIFIED at the Target in Vero Beach, FL last weekend...

Two portables (different models) under glass.... were ~99$ - down to $39... Three portables on the clearance rack for ~$40 and a few 'open box/no box' boom box style for ~40$.

Nothing at the Melbourne store (or else they were already sold).

At least he didn't mention the dreaded CHECK. Now writing one of those is one serious way to make the people in line behind you wait. blech! I can't wait until they're history.

After getting so many hot deals, I have no credit line left on my credit card. No money in bank account either, so debit card or check (unless bounced) won't work.

BTW, since I have problem to spell those numbers, I never write check. :Q

I really should buy that Philips MP3 player, it may even have rebate on it!

The Jensen is listed as $55.81 at Target's web site, as well as at Amazon, which appears to have some sort of arrangement to hawk Target's stuff online.
As I recall, Target has a particularly lousy return policy for electronics.

"You can make returns or exchanges at your local Target store or via mail with an original target.com packing receipt or an online Gift Receipt. All returns must be new, unused and contain all original product packaging and accessories. Some items cannot be returned if opened, including music, movies, video games, software and collectibles. Some items are subject to a 15% restocking fee, including camcorders, digital cameras, portable DVD and portable electronics. Other restrictions may apply."

If you feel obliged to return the unit, you will at least get dinged with a 15% restocking fee and they may not take a return at all unless it is "new, unused." Of course, why would you want to return something unless you'd tried it and found it wanting, meaning that it is at least somewhat used? Also, I don't tend to treasure the plastic packaging from CD players enough to keep it around; that packaging is a bitch to open and has sharp edges that probably kill more Americans than shark attacks and Islamic terrorists combined in some calender years.

Most of the Targets down here in Central Florida just put out the 'Sony CFD-S40CP CD/Radio/Cassette Recorder' for $90.00. These are my favorite portable MP3 players... I'm really thinking about picking one up on my way into work Friday afternoon.

I'm pretty sure these were $149.99 around Christmas.

Funny to see this post, I just bought my mom one (CD/CDRW player) today after looking at a few, I decided to just pay the $50.00+ tax because it had a belt clip on it.. plus it looked nicer! saw a few other brand models being clearanced in a glass case , but the CSR told me they were out of box last ones $19 each from $39 with no accessories ,
