I hate those things! I've seen like 4 or 5 in the past couple years... I am also in the basement... It seems to me that as long as I keep it cleaned, vaccumed and dusted then they dont come around.

I have a bad case of house centipedes in the summer, they get to about 2 or 2.5 inches long. Fast as hell, too. They don't bug me much because they stay downstairs and I don't go there much. Also, they're shy and nonaggressive, and not poisonous. The past few years or so I've seen more of them and fewer wolf spiders, which is just fine & dandy by me. The centipedes are like, whatever - just kill em and it's done. Spiders freak me out though 😱 They're hairy with large abdomens and get to about 2.5 - 3 inches across in my area :Q

Watch out behind you, it's Syringer and his spider army of the night!

I'll be in Kauai in 2 months. I hope that thing doesn't have cousins.

BTW, I'm so glad our house doesn't have a basement. It is a breeding ground for bugs... especially spiders/webs. NASTY.
