Not going to be a suicide. They typically wish to be found during/after attempt depending on whether its real or an attention grab. You don't go to a remote corner of national park to off yourself. Oh, or spraypaint either 🙂

Like I said in my post in this same thread a few days ago, this has nothing to do with left or right and everything to do with Yellow Journalism. Exactly like the anti-choice protester that was killed in Michigan, except in that case it was meant to piss off the right and have the left attempting to justify it, the opposite in this story.

And again, like I said in my earlier post it, once actual facts start coming out there will be a few minutes of "OMG the Liberal media" and the fact that the whole thing was bad journalism trying to sensationalize and sell papers will be forgotten and swept under table.

Yellow Journalism my friends. That is the name of the game. Until we hold them to higher standards and don't just fall into the old partisan name game we will continue to have shitty news and even worse... people who know they can make a huge name for themselves by doing horrible things to other people.

The word "fed" was written in felt-tip pen on 51-year-old Bill Sparkman's chest, but authorities have released very few other details in the case, such as whether they think it was an accident, suicide or homicide.

Jerry Weaver of Fairfield, Ohio, told The Associated Press on Friday that he was certain from the gruesome scene that someone killed Sparkman.

"He was murdered," Weaver said. "There's no doubt."

Weaver said he was in the rural Kentucky county for a family reunion and was visiting some family graves at the cemetery on Sept. 12 along with his wife and daughter when they saw the body.

"The only thing he had on was a pair of socks," Weaver said. "And they had duct-taped his hands, his wrists. He had duct tape over his eyes, and they gagged him with a red rag or something."

Two people briefed on the investigation said various details of Weaver's account matched the details of the crime scene, though both people said they were not informed who found the body. The two spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case.

"And they even had duct tape around his neck," Weaver said. "And they had like his identification tag on his neck. They had it duct-taped to the side of his neck, on the right side, almost on his right shoulder."

Authorities have refused to say if Sparkman was at work going to door-to-door for census surveys before he died.

Both of the people briefed on the investigation confirmed Sparkman's Census Bureau ID was found taped to his head and shoulder area. "It took me three or four good nights to sleep. My 20-year-old daughter ended up sleeping in the floor in our bedroom." he said.

Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson declined to comment on the investigation because the department is only playing a supporting role but said patrols have increased in the Daniel Boone National Forest since the body was found.

The Census Bureau has suspended door-to-door interviews in the rural county pending the investigation.

State Trooper Don Trosper said it was clear this wasn't a natural death but said all other possibilities were being considered.

"This case has many facets," he said. "To investigate cases, you have to rule out different scenarios. We are not able to rule out many scenarios at this time, and that's what makes this a difficult case."

Although anti-government sentiment was one possibility in the death, some in law enforcement also cited the prevalence of drug activity in the area - including meth labs and marijuana fields - although they had no reason to believe there was a link to Sparkman's death.

"Now they're taking their meth lab operations into the rural, secluded areas," the sheriff said. "We've had complaints in the area, but not that particular location."

I'd also point out: Even if "Fed" wasn't really written on the victim, if it was reported to be there I think everyone should be alarmed. Certainly it wouldn't be True in that case, but no one other than Investigators would know the Truth. We all, regardless of Side, rely on the Media/Press to inform us of such details. Which is why Media/Press getting caught making shit up is/should be a big scandal. Which is why Fox News is a completely unreliable Source and no one should watch it. Not to say that Fox is alone in that, but their track record is by far the worst, yet people seem to be drawn to them in greater numbers all the time. It won't end well.

You reply'ed before my edit where I posted another article from the interview of the man who found the body. The guy was gagged, duct tape bonded his hands feet eyes and neck, he was naked, a rope was around his neck to a tree, he was on the ground, the word fed WAS written on his body, and his Census Id was attached to him far out in the middle of nowhere. Ya, I saw it. Just thought I'd point out that initial "Outrage" was justified True or not, due to the Relationship of the Press and the Public.
 
I think it points to someone being interrupted in the process of committing of a crime and possibly thought the person they killed was either spying for the government or was an undercover agent. There was a case back in the 80's where a woman was killed because she walked into a restroom during a coke deal and was found later with the word pig written on her. She was a security guard at the store across the street whose bathroom was broken, so she went across the street to the diner on the corner, a known drug hangout.
