Heh. The DoJ looks at options pleasing to Trump they can supposedly take to the court in October when the court reconvenes. It's called humoring the Boss. In the meanwhile, the forms are being printed w/o the question to meet the April 1 deadline required by law. That deadline cannot be met if re-litigation commences in October. It's impossible.
Come October, they'll have forgotten about it entirely, or wish they had when the Justices get done with them.
Trump. Unfit to be President.
Disgusting ass republicans almost have a full Banana republic. The likes of Boof Kavanaugh are going to facilitate it.
Traitors.
That's a bunch of bull shit that will never happen!!Yup. Captain dipshit's tweet this morning caused some concern that the position submitted by the DOJ was not, in fact, it's position yesterday and they were going to ignore the court's ruling.

Well, Barr did it again, and why not? Pelosi refuses to start impeachment and who cares if they get sued and hammered eventually midway for it not being actually compliant with the SCOTUS ruling. Shee-it, that's probably when they'll "accidentally" circulate it.
Always take a swipe at the Democrats, right? The rest is pretty silly, too. Trump will either cut his losses or dig himself a deeper hole. There's no fucking way anybody will mail out census forms different that what the SCOTUS has decreed. Nor do they want to tell the Court that the census will be delayed for any reason. They have a clear path to a timely census & doing otherwise invites the wrath of the Court. Just because the President can't be indicted doesn't mean the SCOTUS can't hold him in contempt.
And what do you think will happen if they hold them in contempt?
HOR Dems will impeach Trump for that alone & toss it in Mitch's lap.
Trump & the GOP get to wear it for the election. Perhaps you could suggest a realistic alternative in lieu of the negativity. So in other words, nothing.

Significantly the judges could hold anyone but the President (or possibly Vice-President) in criminal contempt with jail time involved, and therefore defacto force the government to stop pursuing the citizenship question on this US Census. For example there was historically the following situation where there was the possibility of the Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton being held in criminal contempt for how she and her government department handled a particular matter. https://www.washingtonpost.com/arch...fc8-a62a-8880ae1b1bb5/?utm_term=.c9855fea4cd2Sorry, all I have left is negativity. Do you have anything for me to be positive about, that's not rooted in wishful thinking?

In a ongoing criminal contempt case because the government has not stopped the required action, the federal judge in question can immediately issue another criminal contempt or criminal contempt (plural) of court verdicts. Now its true Trump could immediately try continuing issuing pardons and create an indisputable severe true constitutional crisis, but you would expect true political consequences for Republicans if something this blatant happens and they are still blocking impeachment at that pointAnd the president can simply pardon them.

In normal time your optimism would be shared and such negative thoughts would be laughed at for the sheer absurdity. However these aren't normal times and this president revels in absurdity.
Sorry, all I have left is negativity. Do you have anything for me to be positive about, that's not rooted in wishful thinking?
So there is no alternative, right?
I haven't seen anything that reigns in a president when one of the chambers of Congress refuses to hold them accountable.

There is one way to take care of that issue but I won't even type it because I don't want the Secret Service showing up at my door.
