The frequency with which the police and legal system now throw into jail anyone judged to have committed a “speech crime” is alarming.

On October 11, Barry Thew, a 39-year-old man from Manchester, was sentenced to eight months in jail—eight months!—for the crime of wearing a t-shirt that said, “One less pig — perfect justice”.

He donned the t-shirt just a few hours after two police officers were shot dead in Manchester, on September 18. Some members of the public took offence at his flagrantly police-baiting tee, complained to the cops about him, and before you could say “Fuck da police” Thew was being found guilty of committing a Section 4A offence under England’s Public Order laws—that is, he “displayed writing or other visible representation with the intention of causing harassment, alarm or distress.”

Really? Pretty much crossed England off the list of places I would ever want to visit. Way to go England you've successfully lowered my opinion of you to below that of Liberia.

Doesn't surprise me. It's such a nanny state, I pity anyone who lives there.

Well, the International Democrat Union (i.e., Conservative Parties who like legislated order) is about to come here, just like it's in power in Israel, the UK, and Canada. If they can elect a Internationally Democratic Unionist, then... why can't the US gov have one?

Also, as Ahmedinejahd leaves office, so does Obama.

England is going to sh*t. Most of the people there have no idea how pathetic their gov and by extension they are becoming, and you'll find most people in England who come into this thread defend the 1984 policies of the police state quite happily like good little sheep.

News I saw yesterday said now you need ID to buy a hunting magazine, apparently a 13 year old could be smeared by the thought of killing an animal: http://www.outdoorpressroom.com/out...shooting-hunting-magazines-must-show-ids.html

WH Smith says youngsters under 14 will not be sold shooting titles, even though it is legal to hold a shotgun licence below that age.
checks are already in place for a range of products, including scissors and adhesives
LOL wut? Scissors??

This is what happens when you let political correctness, censorship and thought crime laws get a foothold in the society. At this point there is no turning back for them, they're pretty much screwed now that they've collectively accepted law-enforced political correctness as opposed to freedom.

Sadly our country is not far behind.

In related news, new PM of France states he wants to raise capital gains tax to 66%. Businesses raise white flag of surrender.

I fear if things don't turn around soon, we'll have a repeat of the events of the 20th century. Progressivism->economic collapse->social collapse->world war->genocide.

Think TSA.

We're AHEAD of Europe in some ways. North Korea is our destination.
