cendyne cd-r..how to tell who's it is

does anyone know of a way to tell who made the cendyne cdrw's by looking at the serial #? I know there were some posts a while ago by MysticMan1 about how to tell, but i can't find any and i am not sure where to look.

Look at the model number then do a google search. That'll help ya

Are you looking at the drive or the box?

I bought a "Cendyne" 52x burner from OfficeMax and on the back of the box, the part # was the exact Lite-On part number.

Also, the physical drive itself looked just like a Lite-On drive. In fact, there was no mention of the Cendyne name anywhere and it had the orginal Lite-On sticker on top of the drive.
