Celtics fans hold up a white sheet with an enlargement of New Jersey Nets guard Jason Kidd's booking photograph during the second half of their NBA playoff game in Boston, Friday May 9, 2003. Fans chanted "wife beater", in reference to Kidd's January 2001 arrest for striking his wife.

Those Bostonians sure are original

They did the same thing last year, but it strikes a little closer to home after the comments by Bob Ryan.

Hey, holding up a sign is far less evil then hitting your wife. Its a bit rough to dig into someones past, but so what. I woulda been chanting if I was there.

They did this last year and Jason Kidd averaged a triple-double against them in the series, and it doesn't seem to be helping them now.

We don't know the facts of what happened in his personal life and she is still with him which must suggest something, since I am sure she could have gotten a ton of money if she divorced him.

taunting a player about his/her performance is one thing, but messing with his personal life is another :frown:

Imo (and bob ryan's it would seem) he's just a good springboard for her to get more involved in tv. Sort of like hillary and bill. Oh well, screw her. I can't stand women like that. When someone beats your face in and you hang around it just shows what you're all about...

didnt the charges get dropped?

I thought I heard that on the radio the other day...at any rate

man that is poor taste..sorry but as fans we dont have the right to drag a players personal business (especially family matters) like that out in the open. Everyone makes mistakes.

He who is without sin can cast the first stone......

Why? When you sign the contract you trade in your privacy for the cash. That's understood. I don't see why anyone feels sorry for these people. They know what the deal is.

Besides, if you hit your wife (if applicable) you telling me the story won't get around in your circle and you won't get crap for it? The only difference is the scale.

When someone is your idol, it's okay for him to beat his wife, since it's his "personal life"!
