Alright...question here. You know the cell phones that use SIM cards? I think it might be all GSM phones...but anyway. My provider, Connestoga, is local crap, and they only have three phones available. Now, the question is, do I have to have one of those three, or do you think any GSM phone with a SIM card slot will work?

Make sure the phone you get isnt "locked" to another company. If it is, the new sim card wont work unless you get the phone "unlocked". Not all companies will do that for ya either, especially voicestream and fido (from what i hear)

where were you thinkin of buying one from? Most companies also charge outrageous prices if you dont activate the phone with them...
You can usually find some "unlocked" phones on ebay, but granted their not always gonna be new....

ic...I knew that most companies did it with TDMA/CDMA phones, but I wasn't sure if they could do it with SIM cards. Oh well....they'll be bought out by Voicestream soon anyway :)
