What's the friggen' difference and what does it matter?? I have a Kyocera 2035 cell phone and the mofo just LOVES to switch from analog mode to digital on me. I hear the damn thing beeping in my pocket whenever I go through tunnels or by a computer lab as it switches to digital mode. I assume I was in analog mode the other day, and I was walking under the tunnel here on campus and the mofo switched modes and cut off my call. I tried the same thing again today in digital mode and all was fine. So is it OK to just leave it in digital all the time? Would it effect my range or anything? It won't affect my service plan or anything would it?:Q I use Alltel BTW.

So leaving it in digital mode all the time shouldn't be a problem?

is the cellular more expensive? Down here if it changes from digital, it charges differently. Cellular calls ar more expensive too

I have no friggen clue. Lemme go check their site to see if they have any info.

**Edit, I checked their site and all they do is explain the difference between the two...no billing differences as far as I can see**

From what I recall, digital gets you all of the cool features like caller ID, ring recognition based upon caller, and more crisp dialog when in a digital region.

when I had sprint.. analog would get charged.. so I would keep it in digital,if it goes out of range it will search for digital and not go automatically to analog.

I only went into analog when I was out of digital range (like when I went santa barbara)) now that I moved to AT&T I dont worry, analog and digital are teh same its all covered in my plan.. no additional charges.

I think the battery lasts longer in digital mode too. And no scanners are gonna eavesdrop on your digital signal

Other than extra features that digital gives you, the drawback of analog is it'll kill your battery faster. Analog draws more power than digital.
