Cell phones and cars with nav. already have GPS in them...

So? Got something to hide? I'm sure the conspiracy theorists will enter claiming how Onstar and Lowjack are just fronts for Big Brother keeping tabs on you but these fools need to get a life....the amount of data these types of systems generate would prevent someone from watching everyone's every single movement unless you were already a suspect in a crime....and in that case who cares anyway except the criminals?

how about cell phones? most already has GPS inside (if not all post-2000 phones)

My "stealth" Nokia 6015i doesn't seem to, although then can still triangulate your position🙁

no, i couldn't care less. I'm just curious. if a serial killer is on the loose, im sure gov. can intervene these private cell phone/nav. companies and force them to release the target's info.

not to the OP, just generally speaking: some people take privacy waaaaaay too seriously. some people like to make a conspiracy out of everything. everyone is NOT against you, geez.

If you have a cell phone, they can find the geographic cell the phone is in with ease. Finding a more precise position is more difficult.
GPS... if the GPS is passive , they have no way to track it. However, if it has a way to report its position (like a GPS car alarm), there might be a way to activate the transmitter remotely

all current cell phones have a GPS locator chip in them. This is to be used if you have to call 911 and you don't know where you are. This is a fact.

AFAIK the only cars with GPS that can locate you are the ones equipped with Onstar and Lowjack.
