Telling us which provider you use (or intend to use) would certainly be helpful.

Why does it need a camera? Cellphone cameras are mostly pretty poor.
I would look at Sony Ericsson though, they have reasonably cameras AFAIK, and mine has managed to last some beatings so far.

K series - Low to high end candybar mobile phones. Feature cameras with dual front design. Certain models are branded under the CyberShot name. ("Kamera" Swedish) (K200-K810)

i remember some of the old nokias being awesome. built like tanks and had awesome battery life. i think mine was 3010 or 3310 or something like that.

Carrier no object, get a G'Z One on VZW. Rated to 3 feet of water for 30m, dust and shock resistant, and a new model is coming out soon that's in shiny blue with Bluetooth that gets rid of the ugly bumper on the edge of the flip.

We are more concerned in the durability of the phone and not the quality of the pics. She does need the camera in it thought.

Motorola V600 and V635 are both completely indestructible. My V600 has been sent skidding across parking lots on numerous occasions, such as getting out of a bus, tripping, and sending the phone flying, and my V635 has been on a one month trip to the Middle East and survived, including several drops onto boulders, roads, off balconies into the dirt, etc. You can get a V635 for ~$150 now, it's got excellent reception (to be expected from a Moto flip), isn't plagued with any of the software problems the RAZR has, provided it isn't using the VERY FIRST firmware revision (highly unlikely, the phone is 2 years old), and has pretty good battery life too. Plus, with a smaller antenna, it isn't a bad looking phone at all.

my phone has been through the wash twice, a few hours in the hot tub (underwater in leather case), and dropped several times but it is still working (samsung t809)

I was gonna suggest the 3310.. Wow what a brick! lol
Really solid phone.

Really though, my SonyEricsson K750i has really been to hell and back, its had water damage, been dropped so many times i cant remember, its still working, although i did drop it once and the screen started flashing white, but i took the battery etc out and 20 mins later it worked, half of the case is metal too so its pretty durable.

I was thinking the nokia too (3030,3010); and in the event it gets fubared, you're only out maybe $15.

lol yeah, which means you should ignore that post

The 3220 has a camera and is otherwise pretty typical of what you would expect of a nokia brick

Buy any cheap unlocked nokia or sony candy bar phone or a basic samsung flip phone. Stay away from slider or pop out type feature.

Your suggestions are highly appreciated. We'll look into some of the models listed by you guys.
Once again thank you.
