My old StarTac phone finally gave up the ghost with approx. 30,000 minutes on it. It had been dropped on the floor, etc.more times than I can count so I'm not surprised. I am in the middle of a contract with Telus ( I need their coverage) so I don't think I can get a freebie out of them.
I don't care about having web capability, e-mail etc. on it. My main concerns are reliability and durability. Any of you guys have any recommendations?

Find out what phones the service you're with supports. No need in asking for suggestions on here cause you'll get too many cross-compatibility issues with phones. I have Sprint PCS and my phone certainly won't work with Talus, or Verizon, or SunCom, etc. Just check locally with an agent and see what they have to offer.
 
Go with the motorola V60, youll get good coverage with that phone and telus, or go with the Sanyo Colour LCD SCP-5000
