my friend(22 years old, makes a little over minumum wage) is sold on getting a Sprint Smart device PPC-6700, a phone which is in excess of $500. i think she is rediculous for wanting to spend that kind of money on a "personal use" phone considering she wont be using wireless inet, bluetooth, anything else thats fancy on it. she wants it because it has windows mobile and she thinks thats the future of all cell phones(which it might be). she doesnt want to buy a phone right now without it, because 4 months from now every new phone will have it except hers. im trying to find a lower cost replacement for her, but most of the phones from spring suck and shes stuck in a contract. anyone know of another phone she could possible use with wm? preferably something thats inexpensive. i dont know too much about phones, but ive heard "unlocked" phones can be used with other carriers as well?

Thats one of the worst cases for justifying buying something that you really cant afford that I have ever heard.

Sounds like all she needs is whatever crappy ass phone Sprint is giving away free these days.

Let her buy it and go into debt... that way she will learn her lesson about spending money wisely

fyi, i have the PPC-6700 and LOVE it. I use the unlimited wireless internet on it daily....its only $15/month for the wireless I believe. Im only playing $30/month though, for 500 minutes, u/l 7pm N&W, and unlimited EVDO. http://www.sprint.com/SERO if you know someone who works for Sprint
