cell phone off for a month, will I get texts during that time?

In about a week I leave for a month long Army event. I won't have access to my own cellphone during that time (will be off). When I get back and turn my phone on, will all of the texts or voicemails I would have received during that time show up?

I ask because a girl I know lost her phone for just a week and she didnt ever get any of the texts sent to her suring thetime it was off. She has Verizon, I have sprint


Could I go and talk to the sprint people and see if they could save all of my texts if they do not get saved?

I have some important txts and voicemails I'm expecting while I'm away. Thank you. sorry about and grammar or punctuation.. typing on m phone

Usually they have a certain "hold time" on the telecom's server, and after that they get deleted if not received.

No idea about whether Verizon could help you out.

Take your phone with you. Once you explain that you're expecting a message about a planned N'avi invasion...they'll let you keep your phone with you at all times. No one wants the blue monkeys here.

You'll be a hero...and will probably get a Silver Star...or maybe the CMH for your actions. :thumbsup:
 
First, if your SERVICE is turned off, then you won't get them. Chick who lost her phone probably called her provider to tell her provider that and they did something to prevent the account from being used. Even if your phone is off, calls should go to your voicemail immediately. Texts get queued. Are you going to turn your phone itself off or your service?

It all depends on your provider and nobody but your provider can answer this question with any authority.
 
Another reason I use Google Voice. Get people to call and text your GV number and you won't need your cellphone. You'll be able to see and reply back from any device with internet connection.
 
It might save the voicemails. I have Verizon and when I save them it says they're saved for 21 days, but I've had them for months and they weren't deleted.
 
Leave the phone plugged in at home, use prepaid cell for your airport travel stuff. Or if you have 2 phones, just swap the ESN online or something (not sure if Sprint has it, but Verizon lets you do it online). Then swap the ESNs back once you get the phone back.

Forward your texts to an email account?

Ship the phone to someone you trust who can leave it on and plugged in?
