Are "local" calls treated the same as long-distance? As in if I call someone with my cell that's local to that #, does that also use my "anytime" minutes? I believe it does, but not sure...

I'm wondering because they weren't able to asign me a cell # that is local to my area. It would only bug me if it meant the difference between totally free local and using my anytime minutes.

Thank you. Then I guess I don't mind if the # they gave me isn't technically local to me. At first they had me set up with a different area code (of the nearest major city). I did manage to get that changed to my current area code, it's just not local.

Yup. With my cell, I dont even wonder if a call is long distance or not, because there is no such thing as long distance. What minutes get used depend on time of day, and it its within carrier calling (verizon to verizon for me, which I get extra minutes for)
