Have any of you ever put a cell phone near speakers and that buzzing noise comes up? It sounds like one long buzz followed by a couple smaller buzzes.

Other than getting a new cell phone or keeping it away from the speakers is there anyway to stop that noise? It scares the hell out of me whenever i'm just sitting around and my surround sound blasts it.

I haven't tried that before, I like to see that for myself.

We see that a lot with our Blackberries here at work and both computer speakers and Polycom phones. No help for you, but thought I would chime in.

For a cheap solution, you could try not putting your cell phone close to your speakers. ;)

because i have a surround sound set up in my room, it's hard for it to be away from them

lol, this happens to me everytime in the car and home. The sound doesn't bother me anymore. I can answer my cell phone before it rings now :)

only thing that pisses me off is that it's not just when it's about to ring or when i receive a text message! it jsut goes randomly. And unfortunately this is the phone my internship gave me so i can't get a new one :(

The sound comes from the satallite antenna flaring up and it tells the phone that it is going to send it a signal. I hear it when I recieve email, IMs, and phone calls.

This happens at my office when I have my phone too close to my speakers. It's really annoying.

You think that's creepy... Whenever I got a text message on my nokia 3650 and it was in my pocket, my leg muscles would twitch, before it rang or vibrated even... Used to scare the ****** out of me.

yes, they cause interference with things like CRT monitors, and cheaper speakers. Even in older car speakers!!

Cheapest thing is to turn off your cellphone.

On Monday's and Friday's at the client site I share an office with a woman who gets probably 20-30 personal cell phone calls a day, so I hear that noise at least 40 times a week :(

Exactly, not only does it not bother me anymore, but I always get to know when Im gonna receive sms or calls before the time, and then I just pick it up and put it away from the speakers... so it only lasts for like 1-2 seconds
