I live and travel through mostly rural areas, upstate NY. I had a Cingular plan when I first moved here, but dropped it after my contract expired, I almost NEVER could use it as I couldn't get service.

Any recommendations on a pre-paid phone of good quality and no contract? I really dont like the cheap ass phones you can get in wal-wart, target, etc.. Possible to get one using the verizon network, price isnt much of a concern if quality is high.
 
Talk to your neighbor or co worker, if what they have works good then get it. I wouldn't suggest a pay as you go service as you generally get a poor quality of phone and the service costs more with any significant use. I have Verizon and it works great for me, I have used in in the mountains of Colorado and in Madison Wi, where I live. You must realize that all networks are different in different areas and you must research the matter.
