btw its exactly what i was looking for =P

however, i do find great informational sites like these lack a good newbie section, like just to answer the basic questions that everyone asks like

1. which service is the best in *my area*
2. which are the top phones for that particular provider- by pros and cons

otherwise, lots of great technical topics

I think the best resource are the alt.cellular UseNet NewsGroups ... I've already found a few posts concerning cell phone service in your part of CA.
