Cell phone for South Bay (Redondo Beach)?

I'd like to get one local (so I can try it out and take it back if it doesn't work) but I don't know who has good deals (other than Amazon).

Any help would be appreciated.

You're confused. The south bay is the San Jose area, it's not in So. Cal.

I doubt you'll find a deal like at Amazon at a local shop.

Well...I think I may just get a phone with a 15 day trial at a local shop, and if it works, take it back and get one through amazon.

But some people have mentioned that "Asian places" (their term, not mine) have comparable deals.

But no one knows what forum I'm talking about? I'd google for it, but anything with "cell phone" in it is going to be worthless.
