In my phone book on the phone will I be charged long distance if I call someone local if I put 1 then the area code then the number?

I find it a pain when I'm out of town and want to call someone but there number doesn't have the 1 infornt of it in my phone book so I need to memorize or write down the number then redail it with the one.

Thanks

Well, assuming you don't have a nationwide plan, isn't it just based on area codes then?

With a cell phone you don't have to put a 1 in front of the number to dial long distance.

Just put the area code for every number and no matter where you are in the country you should be able to connect.

Before I had a plan that had long distance included anywhere in canada and us, and people could call me without paying long distance (they didn't have to dail the 1 just the area code), so I had all my phone numbers in my phone book with the 1 then areacode since i had long distance included.

Same with this plan, except I pay 10cents a minute or something for long distance, so I wondering if they charge you long distance if you dail a number just like your calling long distance, but its really local. Like that I wouldn't need to retype the numbers all the time I'm out of town.

I guess I'll just call them, sigh, probably gonna be on hold for an hour or two. lol

Thanks

Ummm It always tells me to dail the one when I try to call a long distance number without putting the one first.

Then your cell phone company sucks. I never dial a 1.
