Cell Phone and Fax machine??

Is it possible to hook up a fax machine to a cell phone ?
my freind has NO landline service at his new home so he only has cell phones

Yes i know its just a tad bit off topic
but is this possible to do ?
how?
what equiptment?
software?
which fax machine?

his cell service is verizon wireless
he said he spoke to around 10 different people ( at verizon) but know one knew for sure
one guy said datalink?

would it be better to post this in ?? software??

It might be easier to connect a computer to his cell phone with a data cable &
use fax software on the computer to send/receive faxes.

I told him that to

fax software for a comp is easy

But NO laptop

his wife just got into real estate and wants to take the fax machine with her in the car
they bought a power inverter 12vdc -115ac for the car
they live about 50 miles in the middle of nowhere
hence the take it with you thing

also i dont know what model phones they plan to use
my guess would be one that would work even if they had to buy an extra

As far as I know you can't send faxes through a cell phone. What you could do is use the phone as a digital internet connection for a laptop and use an Internet fax service like E-Fax.
