Approximately 824-849 MHz (Cellular A license) and 869-894 MHz (Cellular B), usually referred to as "800 MHz", "850 MHz", or "cellular";
Approximately 1850-1980 MHz (PCS licenses), usually referred to as "1900 MHz", or "PCS".
Both 1900 and 850 MHz mobile networks can utilize any digital technology (GSM, CDMA, TDMA), but AMPS (analog) is only used on the older 850 MHz licenses.
In Europe and most other countries:
I'm not sure of the exact frequencies, but the mobile bands are referred to as 900 MHz (or 950 MHz), and 1800 MHz.
The EU and most of the eastern hemisphere use GSM systems, but CDMA is also used in some places, especially in S.E. Asia.
