Celica help

I am gonna look into a used 94 Celica. When I was doing research, I saw that it came in either a sports coupe or liftback. What do they mean by Liftback?

A coupe has a trunk that is separate from the passenger cabin, a hatchback has a glass hatch that covers a section that is separated from the passenger compartment only by the back seat.

Viper GTS

A hatchback is when a large portion of the back end opens up, back window and all. A trunk is just the sheet metal lid that opens.

*edit* that's what I get for answering a phone call with the reply window open, 4 replies ahead of me! *edit*

Here's the deal: IMHO, both versions are very attractive cars*, but the hatchback (liftback) will be able to fit more stuff when you need it to. If you don't care about fitting stuff inside, get the car in best condition you can find (usually at a toyota dealership or private party.)

*94 is the last year with the pop-up head lights, right?

91-93 was the last generation to use the pop-up lights. It's a shame too, they look very smooth in combo with the GTs foglights.

Current owner of a 92 Celica GT. I love it.

Oh 🙁 I'd love to own a '93 All-Trac Turbo. That body style is still beautiful. If I ever find one in good enough shape, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I hear ya brother! I'll post some pictures of my GT 5-speed in a minute. The body paint is absoultely beautiful (light gold) and original from the factory. The car has been kept in near mint condition. It has a few "performance enhancments" done to it (Pacesetter Monza Exhaust, KN oil/air, Quakerstate Synthetic 10w30 for the life of car, KYB Gr-2 gas struts, etc)

I've been looking for an All-trac turbo hood since I bought this car, but no luck 🙁

Here's some pictures I took a while back:

(EDIT) Even without the 4-wheel drive and turbo charged 200HP engine, this little car will dog every rice-rocket Honda in my town. 🙂

The only other things I haven't done to it that I want to is:

Add All-turbo hood or find similar hood scoops
Ereubuni Style 398 body kit minus the spoiler
Reflective silver paint job
maybe some clear corners for the front lights

I don't want to go TOO far with the outside modding. I've seen it done WRONG enough times to know when it's too much.

Sweet looking car ya got there. I was looking at buying a Black 92 GTS, but I just don't have the cash right now. I'm sad. It's in excellent condition (280K kms though :frown: ) all stock, whoa.

get the hatchback...

damn.. i wish i had pictures of the 91 celica GTR i had back in japan.. it was hatchback and gray.. it was pimp.. ill get some pics eventually... i had some 17 inch white 5 star rims.... two white racing stripes going down the middle... had fog lights on it too...

damn.. i miss that car...

Does any from or NEAR NC know where there is a place to race cars legally?

I mean, I've seen a lot of home videos from friends on the net, that have taken their cars to drag strips to race in the 1/4 mile. They got like offical printouts of their times and such.
