'Celestial' honour for Takei

Star Trek actor George Takei has been chosen as the namesake of the asteroid formerly known as the 1994 GT9.

The asteroid, located between Mars and Jupiter, has been renamed 7307 Takei in honour of the actor.

"I am now a heavenly body," Takei, 70, joked. "I was blown away. It came out of the clear, blue sky - just like an asteroid."

Oh my...;)

That guy has a way with words and delivery. Love it!

He's done a few guest host appearances on the Howard Stern show for like a week at a time and it's great. Absolutely hilarious. I love George Takei.

I actually heard about this on Stern this morning so I thought I'd see if it had been posted here.

Would be better if it was 1701 Takei.
Cool nonetheless.
